Role Overview

We are seeking a Client Accounting Associate to join our team in the Blue Ridge Region consisting of Roanoke, Lynchburg and New River Valley. Client Accounting Associates report to Client Accounting Seniors, Managers and Partners. They work under the direct supervision of seniors, managers and partners to process accounting transactions, prepare financial statements, respond to clients on bookkeeping matters, and leverage our technology platforms to efficiently serve clients’ accounting needs.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical accounting skills, excellent technology skills, strong people skills and the ability to efficiently and effectively complete assigned tasks.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Prepares bank reconciliations, payroll, bill pay, monthly, quarterly and annual filings and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness of work.
  • Prepares month‑end closing, financial statements, and journal entries.
  • Participates in continuing education focused on technical areas and soft skills.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field strongly preferred.
  • QBO Certified Proadvisor a plus.
  • 0-2 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience.
  • Beginner knowledge of Quick Books Online.
  • Beginner level Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Beginner understanding of basic bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable principles and financial statement preparation.
  • Proven ability to meet critical deadlines and handle multiple projects.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
