Be among the first 25 applicants. As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in supporting Valcom’s manufacturing operations by sourcing, purchasing, and managing components and materials. You’ll maintain strong supplier relationships, ensure timely and cost‑effective procurement, and collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to forecast demand and manage inventory. This role requires strong organizational skills, negotiation abilities, and a proactive approach to addressing supply chain challenges.

• Source and purchase components, materials, and services to meet production requirements.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and pricing align with company standards.
• Evaluate supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering and Production to forecast demand, manage inventory, and prevent supply disruptions.
• Track market trends and pricing to anticipate risks and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, negotiate terms, and monitor delivery schedules.
• Analyze procurement data to streamline processes and reduce lead times.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoicing or payment discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of all purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements.

• 3–5 years of procurement experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience sourcing and negotiating for components.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (such as Sage) and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

This is a full‑time, benefitted position working on‑site at our Roanoke manufacturing facility, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An occasional shift in hours may be necessary to accommodate business needs.
