This position is located in Roanoke, VA and offers full-time or part-time day shift schedules. The role features no on-call, no night, and no weekend commitments.

The Psychiatrist will provide outpatient psychiatric care in the Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic, Crisis Stabilization Unit, or Crisis Receiving Center, working with adult patients and overseeing treatment processes and quality of care within an interdisciplinary team.

Minimum Requirements
  • Licensure:
    Active, unrestricted license as a Physician in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Education:

    Completion of an accredited medical college curriculum that fulfills academic and residency requirements for licensure as a physician.
  • Background Check:
    Candidates are required to undergo a fingerprint background check.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Clinical proficiency and the ability to establish therapeutic relationships with those with severe and persistent mental illness, co‑occurring substance disorders, and related disabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; basic computer/software skills including aptitude to learn to use voice recognition software and ability to utilize Electronic Health Record.
  • Professional and personal maturity and the ability to function collegially and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of cultural fluency and the impact of client's culture on their treatment.
