Nocturnist opportunity in Roanoke, Virginia

Carilion Clinic is seeking qualified BE/BC Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians to join our growing hospital medicine team in Roanoke, Virginia. We are currently recruiting for Nocturnist opportunities at our flagship facility Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a tertiary teaching facility and certified Level I trauma center. Carilion Clinic and Virginia Tech partnered to develop the Virginia Tech Carilion Clinic School of Medicine.

Carilion Clinic employs over 650 physicians who lead our multi‑specialty groups that serve over 1.25 million patients across southwestern Virginia.

• Join a successful hospitalist team with more than 60 providers and a 95% retention rate
• Nocturnist work 147–12 hour shifts annually
• Manageable patient census
• 3 physician hospitalists covering admissions every night
• Excellent PA and NP support 3 advanced practitioners providing cross coverage
• Wide variety of cases with backup specialists available and tertiary care support
• Critical care and other subspecialty support available at night
• System‑wide EPIC EMR
• 703‑bed academic/tertiary center with Level I Trauma; helipad
• Teaching opportunities available; 23 GME programs
• Faculty appointments within the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine
• Large integrated health system that encompasses 8 hospitals in southwestern Virginia
