Emergency Psychiatry Physician Nocturnist

Carilion Clinic and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine are seeking a full-time Emergency Psychiatry Physician Nocturnist to join their team in Roanoke, Virginia. In this role, you will provide vital psychiatric care in a fast-paced emergency department environment, assessing patients of all ages and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities

• Assessing patients of all ages who present to the ED with psychiatric illnesses
• Working closely with a multidisciplinary team including Advance Care Providers, learners such as residents and students and other clinicians to assess and care for patients in the ED
• Providing consult liaison support to the general hospital in the event of a psychiatric emergency
• Serving a vital role in providing psychiatric care in our fast-paced ED environment

Compensation

• Salary Range is $301,875 - $372,299
• Eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary
• Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary

Shift & Schedule

• Full time
• 3 12-hour shifts, plus 4 hours of administrative/research time

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited medical school
• ABPN board certification or eligibility
• Successful completion of accredited residency in Psychiatry
• One year post-residency clinical experience in an acute care psychiatric setting preferred
• Ability to obtain licensure in Virginia
• Skilled in interpersonal communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with patients and families
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
