Academic Non-Invasive Cardiologist with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine & Carilion Clinic Roanoke, Virginia

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join the Section of Cardiology at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 703-bed Level 1 Trauma and Tertiary Care Center serving more than one million patients across Virginia.

This position offers the opportunity to practice within a nationally recognized, fully integrated cardiovascular network supported by a strong primary care and specialty referral base. The role combines high-quality clinical care with academic teaching and research opportunities at a leading academic medical center.

The successful candidate will join an established and growing cardiology section and provide comprehensive non-invasive cardiology services. An academic appointment at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine is available, with teaching opportunities for medical students, internal medicine residents, and cardiology fellows. Research opportunities are available through Carilion Clinic and in collaboration with the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute.

Intermittent outreach to hospitals or clinics within 60 minutes of Roanoke is expected.

Physicians practice in a state-of-the-art cardiovascular environment, including:

• 6 Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories
• Advanced echocardiography and nuclear cardiology
• 64-slice detector CT scanner
• Cardiac MRI
• Electrophysiology services
• Structural heart program
• Ventricular assist device program
• Cardiothoracic surgery

In July 2025, Carilion Clinic opened the Crystal Spring Tower, a 500,000+ square-foot expansion that houses the Cardiovascular Institute and an expanded Emergency Department, featuring:

• 3 Cardiovascular Operating Rooms
• 2 Endovascular Operating Rooms
• 2 General Vascular Operating Rooms
• 6 Cardiac Catheterization Labs
• 3 Electrophysiology Labs
• 76 ICU and Progressive Care inpatient rooms
• 46 Pre- and Post-Care rooms
• 5 Trauma bays (including the regions only dedicated pediatric bay)
• 95 Dedicated Emergency Department beds
