Job Location
: HQ - Roanoke, VA 24018

Responsible for the design, development, alteration, or modification of shelter drawings and structural systems as assigned by the department manager.

Responsibilities

Prepares a wide variety of detailed drawings for the shelter and electrical design and is responsible for their accuracy.

Breaks down information obtained from the bid letter, customer specification, customer supplied drawings and electrical designer drawings to do shelter design.

Performs a variety of calculations following standard procedures.

Prepare work orders (detailed BOM) while drawings are in progress.

Contributes on projects of high complexity.

Completes projects without supervision composing of multiple piece concrete shelters and lightweight metal shelters.

Assists other designers as needed.

Checks/Marks up team members drawings as required.

Renders technical assistance to factory personnel, sales staff or customers as needed.

Possible travel as needed.

Performs other assigned duties as required by management.

Qualifications

Education
:
Four (4) year Structural/Civil Engineering degree preferred.
Experience
: 4 to 7 years on the job Structural Engineering/Designing experience.
Certificates, Licenses or Registrations
:
AutoCAD or Revit.
Knowledge/Skills
:
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer programs:
  Windows, Word, Excel, the latest release of AutoCAD, the latest release of Revit.
- Knowledge of algebra and geometry and mathematical formulas.
- Technical ability in the Structural, Architectural, and Mechanical fields.
