Our client is seeking an experienced Well Intervention Specialist to join their operations team, supporting activities primarily in the East London area. This role is vital for the effective execution of well intervention operations, including workovers, completions, and production optimization services, aimed at maintaining or enhancing hydrocarbon recovery. You will be responsible for planning, execution, and monitoring these critical operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
This position provides a challenging opportunity within the dynamic South African oil and gas industry .
- Plan and design well intervention programs, including workover, completion, and P&A operations.
- Select appropriate equipment, tools, and services for intervention activities.
- Supervise and manage well site operations, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor well performance during and after intervention operations.
- Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with drilling, production, and reservoir engineers to optimize well performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in well intervention , workover, or completions engineering.
- Strong understanding of downhole tools, completion hardware, and artificial lift systems.
- Proficiency in well planning software and operational procedures.
- Experience with risk assessment and hazard management for well operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
