Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (4x12 shifts available upon request)

• Patient ratio of 1:5 serving adults and geriatric patients

• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block

• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract

• Epic charting system experience required

• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

• 1 year of experience required with PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience preferred

• Must be comfortable floating within skillset

• Provide care for Medical-Renal and Hospitalist Medicine patients

• One bed dedicated to chronic ventilator patients

• Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response

• Manage cardiac drips without titration

• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration

• Central and peripheral line care and management

• Respiratory support via nasal cannula and oxygen administration

• Use of rapid response and code teams

• Maintain isolation precautions

This is a private, not-for-profit, general acute care teaching hospital with 703 licensed beds. The facility serves as the region's only Level I Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric patients and is a certified stroke center. The hospital is Magnet designated by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, recognizing excellence in nursing for more than twenty years. The facility is affiliated with multiple medical schools and maintains high standards for patient care and nursing excellence.
