Cath Lab Tech Position Overview

The Cath Lab Tech plays a crucial role in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the cardiac cath lab, providing exceptional care to adult patients with various heart conditions.

• Shift Hours: 4x10s, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
• Contract Length: Up to 26 weeks available by request
• Weekend Requirement: See On-Call section
• On Call Requirement: Expected to take 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts within every 6-week period.
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work or take call one holiday per 13-week contract, in rotation with staff.

Experience with Epic charting is required.

• ACLS
• BLS
• ARRT(R) or CCI RCIS

• Skilled in performing cardiac cath lab procedures, including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temp pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip.
• Proficient in sterile techniques, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols.
• Experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab settings using fluoroscopy.
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management.

The cath lab operates with 6 procedure rooms, serving a daily census of 15–20 adult patients. Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect closures. Advanced procedures performed in the lab encompass TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, thrombectomy, mitral clips, and renal denervation.

Clinical staff will work with state-of-the-art equipment, including IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS.

This is an acute care teaching facility with over 700 licensed beds, recognized for its cardiac cath lab excellence, and accredited for PCI procedures. The cardiology team benefits from multidisciplinary support and operates adjacent to cardiac surgery and hybrid operating rooms.
