The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center is a historic hotel in Roanoke, Virginia, with 329 guest rooms and suites, over 63,000 square feet of event space, and on-site dining and conference facilities. It is part of our portfolio and offers guest-focused service in a historic setting.
As a Bake Shop Employee at Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of bakery items, including bread, pastries, cakes, and other desserts. You will work alongside the pastry chef and the kitchen team to ensure all items are made with high quality and aligned with our hotel's standards of excellence.
Responsibilities- Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts, following hotel recipes and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and quality, ensuring only the best products are used.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking ingredients and supplies.
- Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines in all food preparation areas.
- Collaborate with the pastry team to develop new menu items and seasonal specialties.
- Provide excellent customer service, including taking special requests and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Assist in the setup and presentation of baked goods for events and special occasions.
- Previous experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen preferred.
- Passion for baking and a strong desire to learn and grow within the culinary field.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality baked goods.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences in line with Hilton brand standards.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
The compensation for this position is $13.50/Hr.
- $18.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
