The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center is a magnificent and storied hotel nestled in the heart of Roanoke, Virginia. Built in 1882, the Tudor-style hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a member of the International Association of Conference Centers. With its grand architecture and captivating history, the hotel stands as a testament to timeless elegance.

Boasting a total of 329 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites, the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center offers a range of accommodation options to suit the needs of every guest. In addition to its accommodations and dining options, the hotel features exceptional facilities for both business and leisure travelers. What You Will Have an Opportunity to Do

Join our award‑winning culinary team and help create unforgettable dining experiences for weddings, conferences, and special events! As a Banquets Cook, you’ll prepare and present high‑quality dishes for large‑scale events while maintaining the highest standards of taste, presentation, and food safety.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook banquet menu items according to hotel recipes and event specifications.
  • Ensure timely and efficient food production for events of varying sizes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and adhere to all sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with food setup and presentation for buffets, plated dinners, and specialty stations.
  • Monitor food quality and freshness throughout service.
  • Collaborate with the banquet and culinary teams to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Support inventory control and proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in banquet or high‑volume cooking preferred.
  • Strong culinary skills and ability to follow recipes and plating standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Flexible schedule: evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
  • Team‑oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
