Base pay range

$30.00/hr - $35.00/hr

Apex Systems is currently hiring for a Human Resources Benefits and Payroll Analyst with a Higher Education client. This role is responsible for human resources payroll and benefit functions. The position oversees payroll changes, vacation and sick time tracking for biweekly and monthly payrolls, and manages benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and premium submissions for medical, dental, vision, flexible spending and health savings accounts, life and accident insurance, disability plans, and retirement programs.

Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in human resources
  • Knowledge of and experience researching, interpreting, and applying federal, state, and local employment laws and organization policies
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, detail, accuracy, organizational, multitasking, project management, decision-making, problem-solving, investigative/research, and critical thinking skills
  • Proven abilities to meet deadlines, make sound judgments, manage confidential and sensitive matters, work effectively with internal and external constituents and develop collaborative relationships, and work in a highly interruptive environment with fluctuating priorities
  • Understanding of and commitment to working in and fostering an environment of belonging and pluralism
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Will be subject to criminal and credit history background checks
  • Experience processing biweekly and monthly payroll changes and calculating vacation and sick time
  • Skilled in managing benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, and leave requests, including FMLA
  • Ability to process and submit health and ancillary insurance premiums and contributions accurately
  • Proficient in preparing and distributing required payroll and benefit notices and reports
