About Virginia Transformer
Virginia Transformer Corporation (VTC) is one of the largest privately held power transformer manufacturers in North America, serving utilities, data centers, renewable energy, industrial, and infrastructure markets. With a reputation for engineering excellence, quality manufacturing, and customer responsiveness, VTC continues to grow its Commercial & Industrial (C&I) business across the U.S.
Position Summary
The Associate Vice President (AVP), Sales – C&I is a senior commercial leader responsible for driving revenue growth, margin performance, and customer expansion across Virginia Transformer’s Commercial & Industrial market segments. This role will lead C&I sales strategy, manage key customer relationships, and partner closely with engineering, operations, and executive leadership to ensure profitable growth and exceptional customer outcomes.
This is a hands-on, on-site leadership role in Roanoke, VA
, requiring strong market knowledge, executive presence, and the ability to translate customer demand into scalable manufacturing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the C&I sales strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives and manufacturing capacity.
- Drive order intake, revenue growth, and margin performance across commercial and industrial customer segments.
- Identify and prioritize target markets, strategic accounts, and growth opportunities.
- Serve as the executive point of contact for key C&I customers, EPCs, OEMs, and strategic partners.
- Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and major deal execution.
- Build long-term customer relationships focused on trust, reliability, and technical excellence.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the C&I sales team, including regional sales managers and sales engineers.
- Establish clear performance metrics, accountability, and coaching to elevate sales effectiveness.
- Partner with HR and leadership on talent development and succession planning within sales.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to align sales commitments with production capacity and delivery timelines.
- Ensure accurate forecasting, backlog management, and demand planning.
- Champion the voice of the customer internally to improve product offerings, lead times, and service levels.
