Job Overview

Roanoke Marvin is looking for a Quality Technician on the 2nd Shift. This position supports the Quality department in meeting and exceeding company goals by ensuring all quality standards are followed by employees on the production lines and troubleshooting any quality issues that arise during the assembly process. The Technician conducts testing procedures during manufacturing to guarantee product compliance with quality standards.

  • Ensure that all quality standards are met.
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, and work for conformance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot any areas of the assembly process where a quality issue occurs.
  • Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment that do not meet specifications.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required.
  • Perform gauge calibrations, incoming inspections, and line audits.
  • Assist in quality training.
  • Record and analyze data, maintaining proper paperwork/documentation of departmental data.
  • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
  • Discuss inspection results with production staff and recommend necessary corrective actions.
  • Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and adjust processes or assemblies as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Teams, and Excel.
You're a Good Fit If You Have
  • High School Diploma/GED required;
    Associate’s degree or two‑year technical degree preferred.
  • 1–2 years of quality‑related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Metrology Quality System Practices.
  • Ability to compile and read run charts.
  • Proficient with measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, tape measures, pin gauges, feeler gauges, lineal measurement devices, and optical comparators.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent shop math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure).
  • Critical thinking, problem‑solving, interpersonal, written communication, teamwork, quality, and adaptability skills.
Additional Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each major job function and duty satisfactorily. The role involves leading, directing, and motivating the production lines to develop products of the highest quality. Strong communication, intermediate math, teamwork, self‑motivation, and supervisory skills are essential.
