How You'll Help Transform HealthcareThis position is located at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) Rehab in Roanoke, VA. It is a full‑time position, working weekend nights, 7 pm‑7 am (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
This position is eligible for the following:
- $25K Sign On Bonus Available for Experienced RNs
- $15K Sign on Bonus Available for New Grad RNs
As a registered nurse, you are expected to consistently deliver the best in care and customer service and demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with our patients, their families, visitors, and with each other. As part of the health‑care team, RNs assume primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages. The registered nurse also utilizes delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team‑oriented, collaborative approach to patient care.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimum outcomes for patients of all ages as appropriate to the service area.
- Completes age‑specific admission and ongoing assessments, documents them, and uses them to develop a plan of care.
- Collaborates with members of the health‑care team, patient, and family to develop, implement, and evaluate an age‑specific interdisciplinary plan of care, revising the plan as patient status changes.
- Accurately administers and documents treatments and medications for patients of all ages using automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
- Identifies patient/family educational needs in a timely manner and integrates them into the plan of care, implements them, and documents them appropriately.
- Contributes to Carilion Clinic's performance improvement activities.
- Demonstrates the role of patient advocate, protector of patient's rights, and provider of psychological, social, and cultural support.
- Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients served.
- Determines and performs within clinical, leadership, and/or education pathways to support evidence‑based, quality patient care service and performance improvement.
- Exhibits clinical expertise in rapidly changing circumstances.
- Plans strategies to reduce length of stay, turnaround time, resource consumption, and improve patient outcomes.
- Functions as a role model for clinical practice to coworkers, students, and physicians, manages resources, establishes priorities, and modifies the environment to meet patient care needs.
- Completes manager/director‑determined projects within specified time frames and according to established guidelines.
- Uses problem‑solving methods to facilitate resolution of patient and personnel situations in the work area.
- takes an active role in the orientation of new employees.
- Provides feedback to staff using appropriate communication and documentation.
- Provides input into practice, environment, and work issues by participating on unit, hospital, and/or system activities, which facilitates staff participation/input in decision making.
- Assists with providing education activities for the unit/department.
Education: Graduate of the school of professional nursing from an accredited college or graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.
Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
Life Support: AHA BLS‑HCP required. May need to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific work unit.
Other: Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC).
