American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU/PCU float position requiring ICU experience at a Level I/II trauma facility and VA or compact RN licensure.

• Float position requiring comfort working all ICU and PCU units
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 6:45pm-7:15am
• PCU average ratio 5:1, ICU average ratio 2:1
• Staffing needs reevaluated every 4 hours; may float 2-3 times per shift
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract (two holidays required during winter holiday period)
• EPIC charting experience required

• Active VA State or Compact RN license required (single-state license from non-compact state may be considered pending)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• CPI certification preferred
• 2+ years of ICU experience preferred
• Experience at a large Level I/II trauma facility required
• Proficiency in IV therapy including arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and IV initiation/maintenance
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation and emergency medications
• Skilled in wound care for surgical wounds with drains or wound vacs
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with IV insulin protocol adherence
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

• Work at a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital and the region's only Level I Trauma Center for adults and pediatrics
• Magnet-designated facility affiliated with a medical school, featuring a dedicated children's hospital

• Previous facility employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who have worked 365 days at the facility are not eligible to return, with exceptions reviewed case by case
