Our client is actively seeking a creative and experienced Research Scientist in Chemical Biology to join their innovative team in East London. This role is designed to explore the interface between chemistry and biology, focusing on the design, synthesis, and application of small molecules to probe biological systems and pathways. You will contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at discovering new therapeutic modalities and understanding disease mechanisms at a molecular level.

- Design, synthesize, and characterize novel small molecules for biological applications.
- Utilize chemical biology tools and techniques to investigate biological pathways and targets.
- Develop and perform biochemical and cell-based assays to assess compound activity and mechanism of action.
- Collaborate with medicinal chemists, biologists, and pharmacologists to advance discovery programs.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and present findings to project teams.
- Contribute to the preparation of scientific reports, patents, and publications.
- Ph.D. in Chemical Biology, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant research experience in chemical biology or a related field.
- Proficiency in organic synthesis techniques and modern analytical methods (e.g., NMR, MS).
- Experience with biochemical and cell-based assay development and execution.
- Strong understanding of molecular mechanisms of disease and drug discovery principles.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration in East London.
