Family Dollar – Assistant Manager II
Location:
1626 Orange Ave NW, Roanoke, VA 24017
- Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
- Provide positive, approachable customer service and resolve inquiries
- Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas
- Perform opening and closing procedures
- Process corporate directives (Pull/ Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, etc.)
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays
- Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention
- Keep store areas well-stocked, organized, and to company standards
- Protect and secure company assets, including cash
- Enforce safety guidelines and company policies among associates
- Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates
- Maintain a safe, respectful environment with professional, friendly interactions
- Ensure cleanliness of store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentability
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives
- Preferred experience in retail, grocery, or drug store management
- Physical capability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
