Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative acts as the internal first line contact for assigned customer accounts. They are responsible for general and specific tasks related to the effective execution and support of the end‑to‑end sales cycle processes through account management and data analysis. The role requires sales, expediting, quoting, and quality assurance functions to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities
  • Meet all established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Represent the company professionally and courteously
  • Partner with the Sales team to ensure account retention through seamless customer support, resource orchestration, and order fulfillment troubleshooting
  • Perform data entry, quote support, record management, research activities, logistics communication with warehouse, shipment scheduling, and other defined processes
  • Effectively manage all customer master data (e.g., shipping conditions, contract pricing, contact information, CRM data, invoicing, order entry)
  • Proactively drive account management while executing tasks to support the sales process and move opportunities forward
  • Collaborate professionally with cross‑functional teams to identify and resolve customer issues
  • Improve customer VMI program by adding, changing or deleting items and driving efficiency to improve service and profitability
  • Follow company guidelines to establish selling prices and profit margins; actively research profitability concerns
  • Prepare continuous improvement reviews for customers
  • Use established reporting tools for inventory reviews and new item additions
  • Manage customer portals for demand, quote requests, and corrective actions
  • Maintain and build customer relationships to become a trusted consultative advisor
  • Read and decipher customer prints to provide accurate quotes
  • Recommend internal process improvements
  • Respond promptly to requests via phone, fax, email or chat
  • Upsell products and services through weekly sales or company promotions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; high school diploma or GED acceptable
  • 3–5 years of customer service/inside sales or related experience required
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • SAP skills advantageous
  • Ability to read and analyze customer purchase orders, drawings and vendor‑supplied reference material
  • Data analysis skills to support customer decisions
  • Ability to provide professional written, computer‑generated or verbal quotations and recommendations
  • Clear, concise verbal communication skills
  • Excellent judgment and decision‑making skills
  • Establish credibility, respect and trust with internal colleagues and external customers
  • Motivate employees, create a team environment and resolve conflict
  • Occasional lifting, carrying or moving up to 25 lbs
