Primary Care Sales Consultant - Roanoke, VA Purpose

Primary Care Sales Consultant (SC) is accountable for implementing the sales strategies for approved Cardiorenal product and driving launch activities for an anticipated menopause product. Responsibilities of the role include driving demand, clinical education and sales by developing, coordinating, and implementing a strategic business plan for Primary Care Physicians, primarily in Community settings.

The position reports to the CVR Area General Manager (AGM) and will be an integral part of the Area Customer Squad, collaborating closely with Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, and other internal partners to drive US Pharma outcomes.

The span of coverage will be within the Roanoke, VA metro areas. Travel up to 50% within the territory. The position is residence based and candidate must be domiciled within the territory.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Build and develop professional relationships with primary care and pharmacy staff within assigned customers;
  • inherent utilization of approved CV and menopause products; work with the Customer Squad to generate pull-through within local >ples;
  • Leverage expertise in diabetes and menopause marketplace, applicable competitors, industry and cross‑functional activities/plans to anticipate and manage business opportunities and challenges;
  • Provide input to other commercial colleagues (e.g., sales leadership, regional account managers) for strategic and tactical planning for territory, area, and region;
  • Develop and implement effective customer‑specific business plans and communicate insights to internal stakeholders;
  • Prioritize time to ensure optimal coverage of physician specialists based on opportunity and potential;
  • Understand assigned customers’ product and business needs and meet those needs while adhering to Bayer company ethics and compliance standards;
  • Anticipate potential barriers to goals and propose responsible solutions;
  • Handle customer objections effectively and exceed customer expectations with value to physicians; occasionally train others in region;
  • Understand and comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines, regulations and apply high ethical standards in day‑to‑day work.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or 10 years of relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes in lieu of a Bachelor's degree;
  • Proven track‑record of consistent high performance in a sales role or other relevant experience;
  • Proven track‑record in developing long‑standing relationships with customers;
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills;
  • /Internal leadership and foster ethics and compliance with company policies and applicable laws;
  • Ability to comply with customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., up‑to‑date vaccinations, trainings);
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree is a plus;
  • 5 years of successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical sales experience in competitive landscapes;
  • In‑depth knowledge in cardiovascular, diabetes and/or menopause disease states;
  • Product launch experience;
  • Strong analytical and computer capabilities;
  • Virtual sales experience;
  • Strong local relationships with HCPs and understanding of local market.
