The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center is a historic Tudor‑style hotel built in 1882, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It offers 329 guest rooms, dining options, and over 63,000 square feet of flexible event space, making it a premier venue for conferences, weddings, and special occasions.

We are looking for a highly engaging, safety‑focused, and customer‑oriented individual to join our team as a First Shift Security Officer. The ideal candidate is professional, detail‑oriented, and committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

  7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Must have weekend and holiday availability)
• Training may occur on alternate shifts.

• Patrol the interior and perimeter of the hotel to identify potential safety and security risks.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including safety hazards, fires, medical situations, and threats to life or property.
• Promote safe work practices and assist other departments as needed.
• Conduct preliminary investigations into incidents and complete accurate reports.
• Monitor visitors and vendors, issue badges, and maintain security protocols.
• Assist with opening guest rooms and meeting spaces as needed.
• Issue radios, master keys, and hard keys to employees.
• Respond to fire panel activations, medical calls, and other incident alerts.
• Complete daily activity and incident reports.
• Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests and resolve issues promptly.
• Perform other related duties as requested by management.

• Previous security or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures a plus.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

$16.00 – $19.00 per hour (actual compensation varies by experience and location).
