As a Security Officer - Retail Mall Patrol in Roanoke, VA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security‑related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence within a retail environment. You will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere by providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. • Provide customer service by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the retail location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner to support the needs of the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail environment and its perimeter to help deter unwanted activity and/or potential issues.
• Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance needs encountered during patrols.
• Maintain a visible presence to help deter theft, vandalism, and/or other unwanted behavior within the retail premises.
• Communicate professionally with customers, staff, and/or visitors to address inquiries or concerns as needed.
• Document incidents and/or observations according to Allied Universal protocols and site‑specific requirements.

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
