Unarmed Security Officer

Enterprise Security Services Corporation is looking for reliable individuals to join our security team and support client properties throughout the Roanoke area.

This position supports a range of client locations throughout Roanoke and nearby communities. Assignments may include retail businesses, commercial properties, and community sites.
Work locations and shift assignments are determined by operational requirements. Candidates should be prepared to travel reliably to designated sites and follow the procedures established for each assignment.

As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will help protect assigned properties through observation, routine patrols, communication, and timely reporting.

• Maintain a professional presence: Help discourage theft, disruptive behavior, and unsafe activity by remaining visible and attentive.

• Check assigned areas: Patrol the property and verify that designated entrances and exits remain secure.

• Identify potential risks: Watch for suspicious behavior, safety hazards, and other unusual conditions, reporting concerns promptly.

• Assist people on-site: Provide courteous assistance to visitors, customers, and employees while maintaining appropriate security awareness.

• Follow incident procedures: Respond calmly to emergencies and disturbances in accordance with established instructions.

• Document daily activities: Prepare clear, accurate activity logs and incident reports as required.

• Communicate important developments: Notify site management and contact emergency services when circumstances warrant.

We are looking for candidates who are attentive, responsible, and willing to learn. Applicants must:

• Hold a Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) unarmed security officer registration or be eligible and willing to obtain the required registration.

• Meet Virginia's minimum age and eligibility requirements for security registration.

• Successfully pass the required criminal background check.

• Have reliable transportation to reach assigned locations throughout the Roanoke area.

• Be willing to learn site-specific procedures and follow them consistently.

• Be able to stand and walk for extended periods.

Previous security employment is not required. Training and guidance will be provided to help candidates understand their assigned duties and applicable procedures.

• Weekly pay: Payments follow the company's established payroll schedule.

• Scheduling flexibility: Shift options are based on availability and client coverage requirements.

• Additional hours: Officers may have opportunities to accept shifts at other client locations.

• Growth opportunities: Additional responsibilities may become available as our assignments expand.

Compensation rates and specific shift availability can be discussed during the recruitment process.

Officers must be able to obtain and maintain a clean, professional Class A black uniform. Radios and other job-related equipment may be issued depending on the requirements of the assigned site.

Maintaining a professional appearance and complying with site-specific uniform and equipment procedures are expected.

Client coverage may be required during:

• Daytime hours

• Evenings

• Overnight shifts

• Weekends

• Holidays
