Principal Mission Systems Software Engineer

Requirements Must have:

• Bachelors Degree and 12 years of software engineering experience in defense or aerospace sectors, or a Masters degree with 10 years of experience
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or collaboratively
• Self‑motivated individual capable of segmenting large projects into manageable tasks
• Proficient in programming languages including C/C++, Java, Ada, Python, and real‑time operating systems for embedded systems
• Knowledge of embedded and safety‑critical software standards (DO‑178C)
• Familiarity with continuous integration/deployment and version control systems
• Strong analytical and architectural design capabilities
• Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
• Experience in aircraft integration and flight testing
• Eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI and special access clearance
• Willingness to travel to customer locations as required

• Collaborate with team members and leaders to select suitable design solutions and ensure system components are compatible
• Lead engineering teams on intricate defense projects, including avionics and mission systems
• Develop robust and scalable software architectures that adhere to security standards
• Oversee codebase organization, design patterns, coding standards, and best practices in Dev Ops
• Conduct code reviews, enhance performance and efficiency, and assure quality
• Author and manage testing plans, security assessments, and related processes
• Mentor junior engineers and nurture a team culture focused on innovation, perseverance, and trust
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Split complex problems into actionable tasks and establish practical plans
• Coach and develop team members to elevate skills and improve project outcomes
