Position Summary
What you’ll do… Walmart is opening its third owned and operated milk processing facility in Robinson, Texas, scheduled to begin operations in 2026. The state‑of‑the‑art facility will process and bottle a variety of milk options including gallon, half gallon, whole, 2%, 1%, skim, and 1% chocolate milk for Walmart’s Great Value and Sam’s Club’s Member’s Mark brands. This new facility represents Walmart’s commitment to building a more resilient and transparent supply chain, sourcing high‑quality milk primarily from Texas dairy farmers to serve more than 750 Walmart stores and Sam’s Clubs throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and parts of Arkansas and Mississippi.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to lead our Fluid Milk Plant operations in Robinson, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, ensuring compliance with Walmart’s code of conduct, and maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and food safety regulations.
- Manage and lead a team of production staff to achieve plant goals and objectives during their production shift.
- Ensure all production processes are operating effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with Walmart’s code of conduct and food safety regulations.
- Develop and implement production schedules, production reports, and other documents as needed.
- Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage and control production costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
- Ensure all products meet Walmart’s quality standards and are delivered on time to customers.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all safety and health regulations and policies.
- Develop and implement training programs for production staff to improve skills and knowledge.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, empowering employees to identify and implement improvements.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates through hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and ensuring diversity awareness.
- Master’s degree in food science, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a production management role in a dairy plant or fluid food processing facility.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and Walmart’s code of conduct.
- Proven track record of leading and managing teams to achieve production goals and objectives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility or a related industry.
- Knowledge of SAP systems and other production management software.
- Option 1:
Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, food science, engineering, business management, or related area and 5 years’ experience in progressive leadership roles in a manufacturing environment. - Option 2: 10 years’ experience in manufacturing, food processing or dairy processing.
The Robinson, TX Milk Processing Facility is currently under construction and is projected to be running in March 2026. Once the facility is running at full capacity, this position will work a production shift that takes place over weekends B‑Shift Friday–Sunday, 6:00 PM — 6:30 AM. Until the facility is fully operational, the regular work hours will be Monday‑Friday 7:00 am‑3:30 pm. However, please keep in mind that you will need to be flexible to work outside of regular work hours, including weekends, until the facility is running at full capacity.
