Job Summary

Enginuity Global is seeking an experienced Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) to provide technical oversight and support for the design, integration, implementation, testing, and validation of the telecommunications and operational technology network infrastructure for a large greenfield data center project.

The selected candidate will support Enginuity’s defined Building Management System, SCADA, EPMS integration, and communications infrastructure scope. This position will coordinate closely with Enginuity engineering and field-services personnel, Jacobs, Vertiv, the owner, electrical contractors, and other project stakeholders.

The RCDD will serve in a technical oversight and coordination role and will not be responsible for programming Vertiv-furnished PLCs or designing and manufacturing the associated control panels.

Project Environment

The Beacon Point project is a greenfield data center consisting of approximately 660,000 square feet and includes six data halls, a network core, administrative spaces, meet-me rooms, electrical and mechanical rooms, a chilled-water plant, generator systems, and a battery energy storage system.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working in an active construction environment and coordinating with multiple contractors and equipment vendors while maintaining clear boundaries between Enginuity’s assigned scope and work performed by others.

Responsibilities

Develop or review telecommunications and controls network architecture drawings.

Develop or review fiber-optic backbone diagrams, riser diagrams, and network interconnection drawings.

Review cable routing, conduit pathways, equipment-room layouts, rack layouts, patch-panel arrangements, and termination requirements.

Define and verify fiber types, strand counts, connector types, termination methods, labeling, and testing requirements.

Support identification of communications cabling required between Vertiv-furnished control panels, network equipment, field devices, and the Ignition platform.

Identify design gaps, scope gaps, interface conflicts, and constructability concerns.

Coordinate telecommunications and network interfaces amongst the company, clients, electrical contractors, IT, OT, and other system vendors.

Review material selections and bills of material for compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.

Review contractor shop drawings, submittals, requests for information, and field changes.

Perform onsite inspections of installed pathways, cabling, terminations, racks, cabinets, grounding, bonding, and labeling.

Witness or review fiber-optic and copper cable testing and certification.

Review OTDR, optical-loss, and copper certification test results.

Support network commissioning, validation, troubleshooting, and turnover activities.

Maintain technical records and support development of redline and as-built documentation.

Participate in project coordination, design-review, construction, and commissioning meetings.

Provide technical guidance without assuming responsibility for work designed, furnished, installed, or programmed by others.
