The Operations Staff perform event setup and teardown, custodial, housekeeping, and light maintenance tasks as assigned. The part-time event-based Operations Staff supports the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of events. This role ensures smooth event operations by assisting with logistics, customer service, venue preparation, and coordination with event organizers, vendors, and attendees. Part-time, event-based (schedule varies based on event needs and availability).

This role will pay an hourly rate of $10.00-$12.00.

This position will remain open until December 31, 2026.

Our venue is a spacious 45-acre complex that includes various facilities to accommodate a consumer's needs with a variety of venue spaces available. These include the Marvin and Laura Berry Pavilion, two Exhibit Halls, the Conference Center, the Equestrian Center, and the Middletown Meadow. With our multi-purpose venue, we offer the capability to utilize our facility for events such as rodeos, livestock showing/selling, boxing, wrestling, concerts, trade/consumer shows, corporate meetings, banquets, weddings, quinceañeras, parties, horse events, sporting events, and so much more!

The Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds provides varied opportunities for Nueces County residents and serves as a place for the community to gather and share experiences. Nueces County owns the facility, which is managed by Oak View Group.

• Conduct pre-event inspections to verify all equipment is functioning properly.
• Assist guests, attendees, and vendors with inquiries and directions.
• Monitor event flow and address operational issues as they arise.
• Monitor inventory and supplies during events.
• Coordinate with event coordinators, vendors, and venue staff.
• Assist with loading and unloading event materials and equipment.
• Ensure timely delivery and placement of event resources.
• Greet guests and provide professional, friendly assistance.
• Assist with dismantling event setups after completion.
• Organize, pack, and store equipment and materials.
• Clean event spaces and ensure venues are returned to their original condition.
• Report damaged or missing equipment to supervisors.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
• Identify and report hazards, accidents, or incidents immediately.
• Ensure compliance with venue and company operational standards.
• Assemble, position, break down, and store staging, seating, tables, staging equipment, bike racks, pipe and drape, and audio/visual support hardware according to floor plans and event specifications.
