RG Consultancy are working with a fantastic growing SME in Rochdale who are looking to recruit a Senior Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper on a full-time basis. You will join a small team and report into the Finance Manager of the company

Role Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records using Sage 50
• Process sales and purchase invoices, credit notes, payments and receipts
• Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and other balance sheet accounts
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring invoices and payments are processed promptly
• Monitor customer balances and supplier accounts, following up on outstanding items where required
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring records are accurate and compliant
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain accurate nominal ledgers and ensure transactions are correctly coded
• Assist with month-end procedures, including accruals, prepayments and journal entries
• Produce regular management reports, including profit & loss, balance sheet and aged debtor/creditor reports
