BSL Teaching Assistant role at Aspire People Limited.

Teaching Assistant (BSL) – Full‑time, long‑term contract.

Location:

Heywood OL10. Salary:
Competitive, dependent on experience. Key Stages: KS1 & KS2. Partner school in Rochdale (classroom of 8 hearing‑impaired children). One main class teacher and three other TA’s present.

• Support students with hearing impairments using British Sign Language (BSL) to facilitate communication.
• Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Work one‑on‑one or in small groups to reinforce learning and assist with curriculum activities.
• Promote confidence and independence in students with additional communication needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure the best support for students.

• BSL qualification (minimum Level 2, Level 3+ preferred).
• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of KS1 and KS2 curriculum.
• Patience, empathy, and commitment to inclusive education.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
