SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Rochdale)

Do you have a passion for helping children thrive? We’re looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rochdale. You’ll be supporting pupils with a variety of complex needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, Sensory Processing Disorders, Medical and physical disabilities and Profound and Multiple disabilities (PMLD).

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support learning and development for pupils with complex SEN needs in a nurturing primary setting.
  • Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored strategies and individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Encourage confidence and independence, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
  • Provide emotional and behavioural support, using a calm and empathetic approach.
  • Adapt activities and resources to suit individual needs and abilities.
  • Celebrate progress and help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
What We’re Looking For
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential).
  • Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
  • Previous experience supporting children with complex SEN needs.
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to every challenge.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
