A primary specialist school in Rochdale are currently looking for two teaching assistants to take on full time positions starting as soon as possible, helping support children with complex needs such as ASC, PMLD and physical disabilities. The school is committed to providing a positive learning environment for the pupils, focusing on their personal development and implementing inclusivity.

The ideal candidate would:
  • Have experience working with young people with complex needs
  • Have experience working with young people with challenging behaviour
  • Be patient, calm and passionate about working with children
  • Ideally some experience working in an educational environment
The role will involve:
  • Supporting children in the classroom with continuous provision
  • Encouraging good behaviour and keeping the children safe.
  • Working closely with the teacher, following individual learning and behaviour plans
  • Giving feedback regularly about each child’s progress
  • Support with transitions around school and off-site trips
  • Personal care and mobility support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
