Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism Support)
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP / To be agreed
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Rochdale. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) to access learning, develop independence, and thrive both academically and socially within a mainstream secondary setting.

The Role:
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism

  • Supporting students in lessons across a range of subjects

  • Implementing EHCP targets and personalised support strategies

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Working closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals

  • Encouraging social interaction and confidence building

The Ideal Candidate :
  • Experience working with children or young people with Autism (school-based experience desirable)

  • Understanding of ASC strategies and inclusive practice

  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
