Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Horizon Care and Education is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Great Howarth School in Rochdale. The independent specialist day school provides high‑quality education for boys and girls aged 7‑18 with complex needs including SLCN, SEMH, ADHD and Autism.
Can enrol before the school year ends or for September start. Working 1:1 with some students to give them the time and support they need to learn.
Responsibilities- Assisting students in their educational and social development.
- Providing support inside and outside of the classroom to enable full engagement in a wide range of activities.
- Helping to set up activities for students, using technology or adjusting the environment to suit their needs.
- Supporting teachers, engaging with students, providing learning support, and reacting to situations in a positive, non‑disruptive manner.
- Experience working with children who have behavioural support needs and knowledge of behavioural management techniques and strategies.
- Grade C or above GCSE in English and Math, or L1/2 equivalent functional skills qualification.
- Hold or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching assistant qualification.
