SEN Specialist Teacher – Primary & Secondary SEN School | Rochdale | Full-Time | September Start

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Rochdale that supports both primary and secondary-aged pupils. We are seeking an inspiring SEN Specialist Teacher who is committed to helping every learner achieve success, no matter the challenges they face.

The Role

As an SEN Specialist Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that inspire pupils to develop academically, socially, and emotionally. You will work closely with support staff, therapists, families, and external professionals to ensure every child receives the support they need to reach their full potential.

This role offers the opportunity to teach pupils across either primary or secondary pathways depending on your experience and preferences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons
  • Adapt learning to meet a range of SEND needs and abilities
  • Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and support staff
  • Monitor progress and celebrate achievements, no matter how small
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and communication development
  • Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to EHCP targets, reviews, and personalised learning plans
What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, either in specialist or mainstream settings
  • A nurturing and child-centred approach
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • A passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
