About the school:

We’re recruiting a confident and compassionate Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a brand-new specialist SEMH provision in Rochdale
, supporting primary and secondary students. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a safe, structured, and therapeutic learning environment from the very start.

The setting offers an alternative to mainstream education for learners who need consistency, emotional support, and strong relationships to thrive. Students may present challenges, but they are resilient, individual, and full of potential.

You’ll work as part of a skilled, supportive team, providing calm, emotionally informed support in and out of the classroom. Your empathy, resilience, and commitment will be genuinely valued—and your role will make a real difference in transforming outcomes for vulnerable young people.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a similar SEMH/PRU setting
  • Previous experience working in a UK school setting
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training
    , completed within the last 12 months
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting young people
Eligibility Requirements
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
