Engage Education are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants for schools across Rochdale. We are looking for caring, resilient and enthusiastic individuals who want to make a genuine difference to pupils with additional needs.
The RoleAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils both academically and personally.
- Providing 1:1 and small-group learning support
- Supporting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
- Helping students access personalised learning activities
- Supporting pupils with SEMH, autism, ADHD and behavioural needs
- Building positive and trusting relationships with students
- Encouraging confidence, independence and resilience
- Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
- Supporting individual education plans and EHCP outcomes
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in:
- Schools or SEN settings
- Teaching or Learning Support
- Youth work or mentoring
- Sports coaching
- Residential or care work
- Behaviour support
- Working with children or young people
You should be calm, patient, resilient and confident when supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essential — relevant experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals will be considered.
