Graduate Teaching Assistant; GTA)

Are you a recent graduate looking to gain hands‑on experience working with children and young people with additional needs?

We are recruiting Graduate SEND & SEMH Support Staff to work in specialist schools across Rochdale
, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, complex SEND, SEMH, anxiety, depression and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA).

This is an excellent opportunity for Psychology, Education, Sociology, Health & Social Care and related graduates looking to build experience in education, educational psychology, teaching, mental health or therapeutic support.

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Assist with classroom activities, interventions and individual support plans.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff.

• Graduates with a degree in Psychology, Education, Sociology or a related subject.
• A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Patient, resilient and empathetic individuals with a proactive approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.
