We're seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Area Manager to join a leading HV contractor, working on major substation projects for the National Grid. This is a hybrid position, ideally suited for someone based north of Birmingham and willing to travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities will be:

Oversee multiple HV substation civils projects across the region
Lead and develop site teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to spec
Manage client relationships, reporting directly to senior leadership
Ensure all work complies with National Grid standards and HSEQ requirements
Contribute to tendering, planning, and resource allocation

Essential Experience & Skills

Strong civils engineering background, ideally degree-qualified or equivalent
Proven track record managing HV substation projects (National Grid experience essential)
Must have NG Authorisations - National Grid Person (lapsed) as a minimum
Excellent leadership and team management skills
In-depth knowledge of UK HSEQ standards with an associated qualification
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
