Multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer – responsible for reactive and preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.

• shift: 4 on / 4 off; 7am‑7pm
• salary: competitive

• Diagnose and resolve equipment failures across mechanical, electrical, cranes, conveyors, refrigeration, and plant utilities, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.
• Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in line with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Regularly inspect and maintain the Coldstore plant, ensuring it operates within temperature thresholds.
• Support refrigeration servicing schedules and report deviations or concerns to leadership promptly.
• Resolve breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve reliability of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Collaborate with the wider team to solve problems and keep the facility running.

• Work in a cold environment (≈–18°C) with full PPE provided.
• Occasional ladder work at height.

• A recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC, or equivalent).
• Mechanical Engineering knowledge also beneficial.
• Proven hands‑on maintenance experience, ideally with refrigeration and mobile racking.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, health & safety legislation, and maintenance best practices.
• Willingness to learn and improve skills.
• Effective communicator in English with proactive and adaptable approach.
