Engineering Stores Assistant – Engineering

Hours40 hours a week (Mon–Fri 07:00 – 15:30)
Role PurposeProvide support to the Engineering Department with the day‑to‑day running of the Engineering Stores, maintaining required levels of spares and spare equipment in line with production demands, and contributing to the delivery of business objectives & KPIs.
Responsibilities- Maintain and support the engineering spare parts and consumable stores.
- Ensure timely and accurate procurement of engineering spare parts and consumables.
- Receive, inspect, and book parts; manage receipt goods and ensure all paperwork is available for audit.
- Continuously monitor and analyze spare parts and consumable demand in line with changing operational and planning demands, maintaining minimum stock levels.
- Coordinate with nominated external suppliers across the UK and Europe to ensure stock is available when required.
- Complete regular stock takes via CMMS and generate stock replenishment reports to manage min/max levels.
- Document and send faulty parts for repair with selected suppliers.
- Compile and maintain all procurement documentation, filing for audit purposes.
- Manage all chemicals used within engineering in accordance with COSHH regulations.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including manual handling (reviewed annually).
- Communicate clearly and confidently on all matters related to engineering stock and stores.
- Good analytical and numeracy skills.
- Excellent computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of stock control processes and budget control.
- Good grasp of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
- Effective communication at all levels.
- Experience using procurement systems.
- Experience in working within engineering stores (essential).
- CMMS – Agility experience preferable but not essential.
