This is a full‑time, on‑site Computer Aided Design Design Engineer role based in Heywood. The Design Engineer will produce detailed engineering drawings and 3D models for mechanical building services using CAD tools, ensuring designs meet technical standards and project specifications. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include collaborating with project engineers and managers to develop HVAC layouts, reviewing design requirements, and translating concepts into buildable solutions.
The role involves updating and maintaining drawing records, supporting design revisions during the construction phase, and coordinating with contractors and suppliers to resolve technical queries. The Design Engineer will also contribute to design optimization for efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Candidates should possess strong Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) skills, including 2D and 3D modeling for building services applications.
- Candidates should possess experience in Design Engineering and Product Design, with the ability to convert project requirements into practical mechanical solutions.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Engineering Drawings, including creating accurate schematics, layouts, and fabrication details.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles, particularly related to HVAC and mechanical building services.
- Relevant engineering or technical qualification (e.g., degree or vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in HVAC and building services design is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a project team are beneficial.
- Previous experience in a building services, HVAC, or construction environment is an advantage.
