We are looking for an experienced Patient Services Team Leader with people management and healthcare experience to head up our Patient Services Team responsible for looking after community ophthalmology services. The role is based in Rochdale and supports eye‑care treatments throughout the North West, Yorkshire and Winchester.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Patient Services Manager and be part of the local management team, working closely with other department heads and clinical leads.
As a Team Lead you will promote a great patient experience, maintain high‑quality patient records, support clinical teams in delivering excellent care and inform senior management with patient data to improve operational decisions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervise, support and develop a team of Patient Services Assistants
- Conduct regular one‑to‑one meetings and performance appraisals
- Manage staff rotas, annual leave and sickness cover to ensure adequate staffing levels
- Facilitate staff training and induction for new team members
- Ensure the delivery of a high‑quality, patient‑focused administrative service including telephone management and improvement of patient satisfaction objectives
- Handle escalated patient queries and complaints professionally and effectively
- Oversee reception and call‑handling processes to maintain service standards
- Experience and evidence of effectively managing teams within the last 12 months
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting with a good understanding of referral management systems and patient pathways
- Management qualification (NVQ level 4 in Business Administration) desirable but not essential
- Experience in a private healthcare setting an advantage
- Ability to demonstrate critical reasoning skills and decision making
