Overview

Residential Support Worker - multiple positions available – Rochdale, Greater Manchester. Join a compassionate adult care service in Rochdale that supports individuals with physical and learning disabilities, dementia, and mental health needs through person-centred care, training, and genuine career progression.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred care to adults with physical and learning disabilities, dementia and mental health needs within a 24-hour care setting. You ll support daily living, wellbeing and social activities both in the home and the community, making this a rewarding, hands-on role for someone passionate about empowering others and improving lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver person-centred care that meets emotional, physical and social needs
  • Support individuals with personal care, hygiene and medication
  • Assist with cooking, meal preparation and maintaining a safe, clean environment
  • Encourage independence and participation in daily life and leisure activities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, including community outings
  • Act as a positive role model and build trusting, respectful relationships
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and timely completion of reports
  • Support access to Social Workers and advocacy where required
  • Promote dignity, choice and inclusion at all times
  • Follow company policies, care plans and safeguarding procedures
  • Attend and actively engage in training, meetings and reviews

About you:

  • Experience in adult care, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, dementia or mental health
  • A compassionate, patient and respectful approach
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including waking nights
  • Confidence supporting individuals in the community
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to person-centred, values-led care
  • An interest in continuous training and skills development
