This is your opportunity to be leader and part of a dynamic and caring team.
We are passionate about providing outstanding care to young people and families/carers at our CAMHS inpatient unit.
You will assist the unit manager in all aspects of service provision and delivery of care within the unit. You will provide managerial and clinical supervision to a team of staff and act as a role model, providing supervision, support and leadership.
We have access to training to support you to develop your skills, including DBT/Safeguarding/STORM/Physical Health/Eating Disorder/MBT.
We will offer you excellent opportunities to develop your leadership skills and you will be well supported by an established and experienced clinical team.
There is access to staff support groups, monthly supervisions and reflective practice.
Main duties of the job- Assist the unit manager in the effective operational management of the unit.
- Provide clinical leadership to staff from all disciplines including student nurses.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining an evidence based and positive culture within the unit.
- Assist the unit manager in ensuring that all staff in sphere of managerial responsibility carry out their duties and responsibilities in a manner acceptable to the trust, in keeping with Trust policies and procedures and the unit philosophy and operational policy.
- Ensure that the governance agenda is delivered on the ward.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual programmes of care for young people with serious mental health issues and / or complex emotional / behavioural difficulties. Coordinate and manage a team of staff undertaking this responsibility.
- Provide advice on care for young people with serious mental health issues and / or complex emotional/behavioural difficulties, including significant risk to self and others.
- Carry out risk assessments and management plans.
- Ensure that a high standard of individualised care is provided in line with the young persons care plan that will assist in recovery and rehabilitation and enhance their daily living skills.
- Be involved with Quality Improvement projects, including young people and families in the process.
- Involve with recruitment and staff development.
- Provide line management and clinical supervision to more junior staff.
