Equans is recruiting for a Site Supervisor to join our team in Hollingworth Academy, Cornfield Street, Rochdale, OL16 3DR. This is a permanent full‑time role working 40 hours per week. Salary: £26,010.00 per annum.

Shift Pattern: 10:00 am – 18:00 pm (including a working lunch). Flexibility is required – may need to work 06:30‑14:30 or 12:00‑20:00 to cover annual leave and shift rotations between 06:00 am and 22:00 pm.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake general caretaking duties, which include porter services (e.g. deliveries, exam set‑ups); reactive cleaning (bodily fluid spillages); general maintenance (changing lamps, replacement ceiling tiles); and carrying out Planned Maintenance activities (Legionnaires checks, door condition checks, light switch checks etc), working in all weathers (litter picking, gritting, leaf removal).
  • Carry out opening/closing of the building.
  • Provide regular support to the school so it can deliver its curriculum and communicate with school representatives.
  • Undertake and record statutory and mandatory planned maintenance duties.
  • Log reactive maintenance tasks on the Helpdesk, using the CAFM system to update work orders.
  • Proactively carry out a daily "find it fix it" regime or report to the helpdesk, ensuring tasks are followed up and fixed within the service‑level agreement.
  • Test and record systems required for statutory duties such as emergency lighting, fire‑alarm and sprinkler tests.
  • Use a computer, mobile phone and technical equipment – prior experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Support subcontractor inductions and maintain the register of inductions, DBS and RAMS.
  • Participate in emergency call‑outs.
  • Supervise/ manage the cleaning team, including weekly audits and stock management.
  • Ensure full knowledge of all cleaning equipment and conduct weekly checks on machines.
  • Carry out any other duties applicable to the caretaker role.
  • Travel to other academies or schools as required; provide cover or assistance for holidays, sickness and other leave; cover sites that need additional caretaking duties as part of the PFI service; shift patterns will vary based on a 40‑hour rotational system.
  • Pass an Enhanced DBS clearance to be eligible for this role.

Qualifications
  • Previous caretaker experience.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Be keen, motivated and reliable.
  • Ability to promote good customer relationships.
  • Proven practical maintenance skills.
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety.
  • Ability to follow site and company policies and procedures.
  • Cover lettings to meet business requirements.
