This Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer with a strong machining background gained within medium to heavy engineering. You will ideally have experience with 4 and 5-axis machining, CNC lathes, Solid Works and ERP systems such as SAP. A machining-biased apprenticeship with an HNC/HND in Mechanical or Production Engineering would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical production engineering support across manufacturing, including 4 and 5-axis machining, CNC turning and associated manufacturing processes.
* Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including process specifications, routings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), production orders and product costings.
* Use Solid Works and engineering drawings to support manufacturing activities, resolve technical issues and develop effective production solutions.
* Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, applying lean manufacturing principles to improve process capability, yield, efficiency, workflow and waste reduction.
* Work closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and other internal and external stakeholders, providing technical expertise while ensuring activities comply with Health and Safety requirements.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer
* Apprentice trained or background in CNC Machining
* Knowledge of CAD / Solidworks
* Knowledge of 4 and 5-axis machining processes.
Location:
Rochdale
Permanent Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Mon - Fri
Salary: £ Competitive (dependent on experience) + Bonus
