Overview
Our client Rochdale Borough Council is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities team.
As a senior social worker, you will be vital in supporting the service to supervise social workers and the advanced practitioner. You will undertake statutory assessments in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and the Care Act 2014, identifying and assessing a child s needs, strengths and risks, and developing person-centred care and support plans in partnership with children, families and multidisciplinary professionals.
You will manage more complex case work alongside supporting less experienced social workers where needed and may deputise for the advanced practitioner.
- Undertake statutory assessments in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and the Care Act 2014; identify and assess a child s needs, strengths and risks; develop person-centred care and support plans in partnership with children, families and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Manage more complex case work and provide support to less experienced social workers; deputise for the advanced practitioner when required.
- Significant experience working within a children with disabilities team, including experience of child protection work, family safeguarding and completing care proceedings.
- Significant experience with good compliance, recording and timely completion of work.
- Experience in supporting ASYE s in the workplace.
- A manageable caseload to enable real direct work with children and families.
- TOIL to fit around family and personal life.
- Regular reflective supervision with an experienced manager.
- Access to training opportunities including motivational interviewing.
