Make a Difference. Change Lives.

Are you passionate about safeguarding children and young people? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where your work has a direct impact on reducing harm and improving outcomes?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Complex Safeguarding Worker to join our co-located multi-agency team, working at the forefront of preventing child criminal exploitation (CCE) and child sexual exploitation (CSE).

About the Role

You will build trusted relationships with vulnerable children and young people, helping them overcome challenges, reduce risks, and achieve positive outcomes. Working alongside colleagues from Early Help, Social Care, and Greater Manchester Police, you will deliver tailored, child-centred interventions and contribute to a coordinated response to safeguarding concerns.

You’ll also work with parents and carers to raise awareness of exploitation, strengthen family resilience, and promote stability at home.

What You'll Do

  • Build meaningful relationships with children and young people at risk of exploitation.
  • Assess risks, identify vulnerabilities, and develop effective safety plans.
  • Deliver direct, evidence-based interventions that support positive change.
  • Work closely with families, carers, and partner agencies.
  • Contribute to multi-agency planning and decision-making to safeguard children.
  • Advocate for young people and help them access the right support at the right time.

About You

We're looking for a motivated and compassionate practitioner who:

  • Has experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and families.
  • Understands the risks associated with child criminal and sexual exploitation.
  • Can build trust, challenge appropriately, and engage young people effectively.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment.
  • Is committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and families.

Why Join Us?

At Rochdale, we're:

  • Proud of the difference we make
  • Passionate about the diversity of our borough
  • Pioneering and open in our approach

If you’re ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people, we’d love to hear from you.

Join us and help keep Rochdale's children safe, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 15th September 2026 at Rochdale Police Station.

If you would like to find out more about the opportunity, please feel free to arrange an informal conversation with the Team Manager, Jennifer Kershaw (jenn) or Advanced Practitioner, Imogen Hinsley (im)
