About the RoleShipping Supervisor – Wheatland Tube (division of Zekelman Industries), Rochelle, IL. Onsite. Responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and shipping operations, ensuring efficient material handling, order fulfillment, inventory management, and shipping logistics. Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6 PM‑6 AM.
What You’ll Do- Supervise, train, and coach warehouse and shipping personnel to meet production and delivery goals.
- Coordinate timely loading, unloading, and dispatch of shipments to support on‑time delivery to customers.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Ensure proper storage, staging, and movement of materials and finished goods within the warehouse.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety policies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve shipping and warehouse efficiency, reduce errors, and lower costs.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and warehouse activities using ERP/WMS tools.
- Partner with production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of forklifts, cranes, and other material‑handling equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.
- 3+ years of warehouse and shipping experience in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment; steel or pipe/tube experience preferred.
- 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Knowledge of shipping operations, inventory control, and logistics; ERP or WMS experience preferred.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations, forklift operation, and warehouse safety best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb and operate material‑handling equipment in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.

Base salary range: $71,000–$124,000 USD. Additional benefits include a bonus plan, profit‑sharing opportunities, 401(k) with a generous company match, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, tuition assistance, paid vacation, holidays, and employee recognition awards.
